Design and Technology
In Design and Technology there are two strands of subject content: designing and making, and cooking and nutrition.
The designing and making strand gives each individual child the opportunity to design, create and evaluate products. Working creatively, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems, using increasingly advanced tools.
The cooking and nutrition strand involves pupils throughout EYFS and KS1 learning about the importance of a healthy diet and where food comes from. At key stage 2, pupils are taught about where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed. They begin to weigh and measure ingredients for food preparation.
Our D&T curriculum is planned through a topic based curriculum and cross curricular links are used whenever possible.
