Forest School At Oughtrington
Forest School is about learning in a natural environment, and developing the whole learner. It is a child centred approach to learning, helping children to develop their imagination and raising their self-esteem. Outdoor learning helps develop the child’s personal, social and emotional development. The children are working with a Forest School leader who will plan purposeful and exciting activities to enhance and enrich the children’s knowledge of the outdoor world and the Forest School leader will help the children to pursue their own interests.
The activities are based around creative arts and design, physical development and understanding the world. The Forest leader will facilitate learning by developing new skills, questioning, giving commentary, and will encourage shared thinking. This will help to develop the children’s active learning skills and will support the children in becoming resilient and creative learners.
