Before and After School Club - Oughty Owls
Oughty Owls is our own Before and After School Care provision, as part of our extended hours. We aim to provide continuity and security for children through a range of fun activities and opportunities for all children from Reception to Year 6, within the familiar setting of the school building.
The provision is run by high quality, qualified staff who are able to supervise and care for the children in ways that reflects the outstanding practice seen in the rest of school. The children have fun and develop skills according to their individual needs and abilities. This is a not for profit organisation and all surplus funding is reinvested in Oughty Owls and a donation made to the school for the use of the facilities.
The children who attend Oughty Owls really look forward to their sessions and they are always provided with a wide range of activities to keep them engaged.
Key Stage 1 activities on offer include the following:-
- EYFS based activities linked to class learning
- Construction games and toys
- Problem-solving games and activities
- Roleplay / home corner
- Small world toys
- Literacy and Maths games and challenges
- Outdoor play both in the mornings and afternoons
- Malleable play
- Sand and water pits
- Arts and crafts
- Cultural events and activities
- Science and exploration activities
- Just Dance and Movie Nights
- Cookery and baking
- Construction
- Jigsaws
- And a comfy and quiet reading area
Key Stage 2 activities on offer include the following:-
- Class-linked topics
- Religious events
- Awareness events
- Key dates
- Sewing and needlework
- Knitting and crocheting
- Arts and crafts
- Outdoor activities including hockey, cricket, basketball, netball, football, skipping and hula hoops
- Disco nights
- Film nights
